Thousands of companies and individuals all over the world who are not US citizens choose to have their aircraft registered in the US (“N–registered”) for many reasons (more than 75% of all aircraft in the world are registered in the United States). Maintaining higher resale value and less bureaucratic interference are two common reasons. For US businesses and individuals, having the aircraft registered to the trustee provides increased anonymity, privacy, and security for corporate executives and passengers. The name of the trustee holding title to the aircraft is open to the public; the name of the beneficiary operating the aircraft is not.
A non-US individual or business may NOT form a US LLC to own its aircraft. The law requires that the owners of such an LLC must be US citizens for the aircraft to be registered in the United States.
An aircraft trust may be both created and dissolved quickly and easily. Or, if the aircraft being purchased already is in a trust, that trust may be transferred to the new beneficiary and CenTex Aero as the trustee.
