What Is an Aircraft Trust?

An aircraft trust is a means for those companies and individuals who are not US citizens, as defined by US law, to operate a US-registered aircraft.  It is the legal entity created for the benefit of the designated beneficiary (trustor) under US law and a valid trust document.  The trustee holds legal title to the aircraft and the beneficiary operates and maintains the aircraft without interference from the trustee.  US citizens also may take advantage of the trust arrangement.
